Show Off Your VisualBee Presentations on SlideShare.net

Hopefully you got a chance to check out this week’s clip on VisualBee, the awesome add-in for PowerPoint that turns your presentation into an eye popping extravaganza.  Once you’ve built a few high quality presentations, you may want to show off some of your new found creative talent to the world.  One option VisualBee provided was uploading to Slideshare.net an incredibly popular presentation sharing website.  I spent some time there recently and came away impressed, let me fill you in on some of the details.

For starters, the site averages 45 million monthly visitors with 90 million pageviews making it amongst the most 250 visited websites in the world!  What are all these people doing exactly?  I had to find out.  As it turns out, Slideshare is something like the YouTube of PowerPoint presentations.  These presentations can be viewed on the spot in the browser or downloaded.  I was pleased to learn that you can download, reuse or remix them for your own work.  The search engine was a breeze and results were plentiful for any topic I searched.

After a painless, free registration process I was able to download the presentations and open them in PowerPoint 2010 with no problem at all.  Best of all, even though it’s called Slideshare, more than presentations are available for viewing.  SlideShare also supports documents, PDF’s, videos and webinars.  Wondering who uses SlideShare?  Here’s a tiny sample:

  • The White House
  • US Army and US Navy
  • NASA
  • State of Utah
  • Univ of Texas
  • Univ of Illinois
  • Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation
  • International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)
  • Dell
  • Hewlett Packard
  • IBM
  • O’Reilly Media
  • McGraw-Hill

Add your name to the list and start sharing your content on SlideShare.net
