How to Quickly Add Filler Text in Microsoft Word | Online Video Training

In this week’s Clip of the Week, we showed you a cool trick to quickly create the filler text otherwise known as ‘greeking’, Lorem Ipsum dolor, etc.  Having the ability to create this filler text that loosely resembles English lettering is useful when showing how a document, template or certain style will look.  The specific formula to accomplish this was =Lorem(P,L)  where P stand for paragraphs and L stands for lines.  Of course if you want just plain old English filler you can get that as well, here are a couple options.

=rand(P,L) Type this to get this simple English phrase repeated over and over in Word 2003.

On the Insert tab, the galleries include items that are designed to coordinate with the overall look of your document. You can use these galleries to insert tables, headers, footers, lists, cover pages, and other document building blocks.

=rand.old(P,L) Type this to get a simple English phrase repeated over and over in Word 2007 and Word 2010.

The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog.

Of course there are no shortages of web applications that will help you generate this text yourself.  Look to www.lipsum.com for a history of Lorem Ipsum along with a slick text generator to fill up your document.
