How to Use Sticky Notes for Windows 7 | Online CBT Tutorials

One of the most overlooked and easy to use programs that comes with Windows Vista and Windows 7 is Sticky Notes.  First arriving in Windows Vista, these little post it notes for your desktop are actually highly customizable through resizing and text formatting.  They make for a great way to organize quick thoughts or to do lists without having them go through Outlook or another scheduling application.

If you want to have a go at them, just go to your instant search in the Windows Start menu and type ‘Sticky’ in the search.  Select ‘Sticky Notes’ and you’re on your way.  Simply left click in the note and start typing to add your note.  If you’d like to change the color of the note, just right click and select a new one from the menu.  A little plus sign in the upper left hand corner lets you add another note.  Don’t worry about saving your data, notes are preserved even if you restart Windows!

If you need to expand the size of your note, juts drag it from any side to increase its dimensions.  And best of all, the usual text formatting options apply.  As a reminder, here are a few:

Bold text    Ctrl+B
Italic text    Ctrl+I
Underlined text    Ctrl+U
Strikethrough    Ctrl+T
Bulleted list    Ctrl+Shift+L  (Press this keyboard shortcut again to switch to a numbered list.)
Increased text size    Ctrl+Shift+>
Decreased text size    Ctrl+Shift+<

Launch Sticky Notes now and stop forgetting about them!
